This year’s esss will take place in Leuven/Belgium from August 31st to September 4th 2026!
The European Summer School for Scientometrics (esss) offers advanced training in scientometrics, covering key methods, indicators, and major databases. The program combines solid theoretical foundations with hands-on applications in contexts ranging from academic research to science policy and evaluation.
It is aimed at researchers—especially PhD candidates and early-career scholars—as well as research managers, librarians, and information professionals interested in science and technology indicators.
A hallmark of the esss are its outstanding social events (look here), which not only foster genuine community and lasting connections but also provide the unique chance to meet and engage with the leading experts of the field on a personal level.
