NETWORK

Intro to the Network

The Network is our interface between our research and public institutions, science, research institutions and the wider public. We offer various opportunities to connect with us and learn about bibliometrics and related topics. Come and join us for our webinars, conferences and summer schools. We look forward to sharing and discussing our latest research results with you!

WEBINARS

In our webinars we offer insights into our latest bibliometric research, its workflows and applications. The open events are a central part of our knowledge and skills transfer strategy.

Open Research Seminars

This new virtual series is part of our transformation process towards an agile knowledge network that targets and openly communicates relevant knowledge on bibliometric issues to the wider society. Every four weeks we present latest research foci and approaches to bibliometric and scientometric topics: 30-minute lecture, 30-minute open discussion. Everyone who would like to register is cordially invited! Contact us to join our mailing list: kb@dzhw.eu

NETWORK MEETINGS

KB network meetings are internal KB events that bring our members together. They take place twice a year and are an exchange platform for all KB members, especially targeting researchers and the network’s middle management. This format thus makes a decisive contribution to exchange at the working level but also supports the future of bibliometrics research by promoting young researchers. We organise meetings as workshops, writing workshops or hackathons.

WORKING GROUPS

Various working groups (WGs) have been initiated inside the network. These smaller groups work collaboratively on various topics across different locations and institutions of the network to promote interdisciplinary exchange and strengthen our internal network. WGs investigate and promote relevant research questions and feed knowledge back into public discourse through our open events and hub initiatives.

Here you will find the working groups of the KB and contact persons:

Constitutive:

  • Research (Dr. Stephan Stahlschmidt, DZHW)
  • Communication (Dr. Johannes Stiller, EFI)
  • Technic (Dr. Thomas Bausenwein, FIZ Karlsruhe)

SUMMER SCHOOL (esss)

The European Summer School for Scientometrics (esss) provides an introduction and intensive training on the most important aspects of the quantitative analysis of science and technology. It offers an overview of current scientometric indicators and methods as well as ample opportunity to apply new knowledge and skills during the event. The KB management is a member of the Summer School’s Steering Committee as part of its commitment to skills transfer and promoting young researchers. The next Summer School will take place from 08–12.09.2025 in Granada: european summer school for scientometrics – esss.info. Registration starts on 01.04.2025.

NETWORK PARTNERS

The KB is a cross-institutional network in which the partners cooperate to contribute to the further development of bibliometrics and its applicability on the basis of a shared data infrastructure.
