Research and development

Project partners' own research

The member organizations conduct their research activities mostly independently and autonomously while making use of the common basic infrastructure. More detailed information on their projects may be found on the websites of the institutions.

Internal development projects

For the improvement of the internal database infrastructure internal funding is distributed. These projects were carried out in 2020:

  • Feasibility study "Institution disamgibuation Dimensions" (Bielefeld University, Bibliometrics Group)
  • Exploration of Dimensions' citation network as a data source for the Competence Centre for Bibliometrics (DZHW)
  • Dimensions – Evaluation of content and bibliometrics data basis (Forschungszentrum Jülich)

External use for research

The use of the KB infrastructure and its licenced data for science studies activities of institutions beyond the KB project partners is currently made possible in the BMBF funding framework Quantitative Science Studies.
